Dear Continental Colony Family, 

I am truly humbled to serve the Continental Colony Elementary community as Interim Principal. I am grateful for the strong foundation that has been built here and for the leadership that has guided our school with the belief that together, we increase life chances. That belief continues to anchor our work and remains at the heart of everything we do.

My educational philosophy centers on three core commitments: Connection, Community, and Capacity. I believe meaningful learning begins with strong relationships—between students and teachers, families and staff, and schools and communities. When we intentionally nurture connection, we strengthen our community, and through that community we build the capacity of every child and adult to grow, lead, and succeed.

I look forward to continuing the important work already in place at Continental Colony Elementary. We will remain focused on high-quality instruction, student well-being, and creating an environment where every child feels seen, supported, and challenged. While our school is entering an important season of transition, our purpose remains unchanged: to serve each student with excellence, care, and urgency—every day.

I’m Natasha Evans, and I’m thrilled to introduce myself as your new Interim Assistant Principal! It’s truly an honor to be part of a school community that values learning, relationships, and the success of every student.

A little about me, I’ve spent my career helping students discover a love of learning, supporting teachers in their important work, and building strong partnerships with families. I believe that when we all work together as a community, amazing things happen for our children.

At Continental Colony, our goal is to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. I’m excited to continue the great work already happening here and to help our students Soar to Success every day!

Annette Mitchell

Hello!

My name is Annette C. Mitchell, and I have proudly called Continental Colony Elementary School home for the past 19 years. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades, serving as our IB Coordinator, and now supporting both teachers and students as the ELA Instructional Coach for grades 3–5. Each role has deepened my passion for helping students grow while collaborating with educators to create engaging, high-quality learning experiences.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I always knew education would be my calling. My parents instilled in me the belief that education opens doors and transforms lives, a lesson that continues to guide my work every day. I believe every child has the potential to succeed when they are challenged, encouraged, and inspired to become lifelong learners.

I've always been fascinated by reading and history, passions that have taken me around the world to experience historic landmarks and cultures firsthand. Traveling allows me to bring real-world connections and fresh perspectives into the classroom, enriching the learning experiences I create and support.

When I'm not at school, you'll often find me tackling home improvement projects, planning my next travel adventure, or spending quality time with family and friends. I believe that curiosity, creativity, and continuous learning don't end when the school day does; they're simply a way of life.

Timisha Foster

As a Math Instructional Coach with 19 years of experience in education, I’m passionate about supporting teachers and helping students reach their full potential. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching 1st through 4th grades, which has given me a deep understanding of how young learners grow and thrive in mathematics.

In my current role, I partner with teachers to strengthen math instruction, build confidence in classroom practices, and create engaging learning environments where all students can succeed. I believe in the power of collaboration, meaningful practice, and continuous growth—for both students and educators.

One of my favorite quotes, by Paul Halmos, captures the heart of what I do:
“The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics.”

Whether modeling lessons, guiding data-driven instruction, or co-planning with teachers, my mission remains the same: to inspire a love for math and a belief in every child’s ability to succeed.

Sylvia Pierce 

I proudly serve as the School Business Manager at Continental Colony Elementary School, bringing a wealth of experience, dedication, and a deep commitment to the Atlanta Public Schools community. A proud graduate of Atlanta Public Schools, I have had the privilege of serving the district in several capacities throughout my career. My journey in education has included serving as a classroom teacher, media specialist, and currently, School Business Manager. Each role has strengthened my passion for creating school environments where students, families, staff, and the entire school community can thrive. Known for being “all things logistical,” I work diligently behind the scenes to help ensure that the daily operations of Continental Colony Elementary run efficiently and effectively. From coordinating school operations, facilities, resources, and special events to supporting staff and administration, I approach every responsibility with organization, professionalism, and a solution-focused mindset. At the heart of my work is one guiding principle: doing what is in the best interest of all stakeholders. I believe that successful school operations require collaboration, communication, accountability, and a genuine commitment to serving others. I am proud to have come full circle—from being a student in Atlanta Public Schools to building a career dedicated to serving its students, families, educators, and communities. Being a School Business Manager is more than managing the business of a school; it is about helping create the foundation that allows teaching, learning, and student success to flourish.
